WELCOME TO NEW PATIENTS
We are mindful that registering at a new practice can be daunting and that there can be confusion as all surgeries have their own way of doing things. Please read this quick guide for information that is specific to how we operate at Stoke Gifford and Conygre Road Medical Centres.
We are recruiting - please see vacancies tab at foot of page for details.
Important - Coronavirus (Updated 26 Jan 20)
Unless you have recently travelled to China or been in contact with someone infected with the virus, then you should treat any cough or cold symptoms as normal. The NHS advises that there is generally no need to visit a doctor for a cough unless it is persistent or you are having other symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing or you feel very unwell.
If you think you might have Wuhan Novel Coronavirus after reading this, please DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY. Please call NHS 111 for further advice or visit https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public
Meningitis vaccinations update. The Men ACWY vaccine for teenagers was introduced in 2015 and is offered to pupils in Year 9 in schools, with a catch up campaign being rolled out for older pupils (Years 10 – 13) and university ‘freshers’. If you are in these age groups (14-18 or in first year university students) and are unsure if you have had the vaccine, please contact us and we can check your records and clarify your vaccination status. We are running additional sessions to ensure that we can give this vaccine promptly where required.
Improved Access. We are working together with other local practices to offer more appointments in the early mornings, evenings or at weekends. Speak to a member of the practice team to find out more.
